TÁNAISTE Mary Harney came under fire last night as a Limerick-based multinational began the shutdown of a plant where she announced hundreds of 'ghost' jobs last year.

Labour's Jan O'Sullivan said the Tánaiste owed an apology to the people of Limerick for a misleading pre-election jobs' promise in 2002.

A huge recruitment campaign at Thomson NET was pledged by Ms Harney last year, including 360 in Limerick.
