ALL 62 road traffic offences subject to penalty points will be rolled out during 2004, Transport Minister Seamus Brennan has pledged.

The first of these, penalty points for careless driving and dangerous overtaking, will come into force by the end of February or early March.

It will bring the number of offences subject to points to only six, reflecting the limitations of the manual basis on which the penalty points' system operates.
