Significant Labour Court changes to Aer Lingus package

THE Labour Court has recommended a number of significant changes to the Aer Lingus severance package as the company presses ahead with its plan to shed 1,325 jobs.

The key points are an increase in the maximum payable under the severance programme from 130 weeks pay to 145 weeks.

The Court has also recommended the maximum lump sum for early retirees be raised to 78 weeks, provided that the amount involved does not exceed potential earnings.
