Art fair offers something for everyone

HUNDREDS flocked to the opening of Cork’s first art fair yesterday, and organiser Maria McMenamin said she was so delighted with the response, she has plans to bring the event back to Leeside next year.

The weekend fair in City Hall is billed as an event with art for everyone. It features exhibitions from over 40 galleries and artists, including sculptor Patrick Barry and artist Kevin Sharkey.

“It caters for both the seasoned collector and the novice, with prices starting at €100,” Ms McMenamin said. Artists including Claudio Viscardi and Louise Mansfield are showing their work, alongside work from galleries in Spain and Britain.
