Boaters saved in Lough Derg

THREE people were safely brought ashore by rescue teams after their boat started to sink in Lough Derg on Saturday evening.

It struck a rock and was holed while the trio sailed on the centre of the lake.

The rescue teams succeeded in getting pumps on board and managed to tow the boat safely to Mountshannon in County Clare.
