Families left homeless as flats gutted in fire
Fire officers rescued the residents and fought the flames for over an hour above the Horse and Jockey pub in Inchicore.
Two people from an adjacent apartment were rushed to nearby St James’ Hospital for smoke inhalation.
“The emergency call was logged at 2am and four engines and three ambulances attended the scene,” a senior Dublin Fire Services officer said yesterday.
The fire destroyed apartments above the pub leaving nine adults and two children homeless.
