Dynamic duo an inspiration to gay superheros

HOLYCOW Batman. Were you and Robin really gay?

Dynamic duo an inspiration to gay superheros

It turns out some of the world’s greatest comic strip superheros who donned tights and capes for the betterment of mankind might have enjoyed dressing up for entirely different reasons. Batman and Robin have even provided the inspiration for a wave of gay characters that will soon feature in comics here.

The two hard working tights-clad heroes were apparently the ultimate gay fantasy. This amazing revelation was something not even their arch enemy the Joker knew.

The tights and skimpy livery, coupled with the fact that Batman often pranced around his sumptuous residence in a dressing gown, aroused the suspicions of psychiatrist Dr Frederick Wertham as far back as 1954.

Batman’s young live-in friend Robin, who also dressed up in tights and put his underwear on over his gear, portrayed all the hallmarks of having a homosexual relationship with his mature partner.

DC Comics, Britain’s largest distributor of comic magazines, decided this week that it’s time for gay characters to come out of the phone-booth for good.

In a changed storyline, the superheroes will be fighting to win the man rather than the girl in a new batch of comics.

Two male superheroes, Apollo and the Midnighter are set to get married and adopt a child in an upcoming edition of The Authority.
