Defiant Paisley lays blame on IRA and Sinn Féin

A DEFIANT Ian Paisley last night laid the blame for the failure to secure a political deal firmly at the door of the IRA and Sinn Féin.

The Democratic Unionist Party leader said the IRA’s refusal to engage in verifiable decommissioning of its weapons was what had prevented the deal and urged the Government to press ahead and restore devolution to Stormont without Sinn Féin.

The DUP leader still insisted there had to be photographic proof of decommissioning. “These people have to repent their evil deeds and show they have repented,” he said.
