SINN FÉIN president Gerry Adams said threats to burn the family of murdered Belfast father of two Robert McCartney out of their homes did not come from his party.

Mr Adams said he absolutely condemned the threats and said they did not come from republicans.

He said the vote he and the party had received at the election was an endorsement of their position that the family should see those responsible for the murder of Mr McCartney held accountable in court.
