DETECTIVES investigating the murder of schoolboy Robert Holohan strongly suspect the killer is someone he knew.

As the East Cork town of Midleton prepares to shut down today for the funeral of the 11-year-old, gardaí leading the investigation expressed confidence the terrible crime will be solved.

Robert was abducted, strangled and his body dumped in undergrowth close to Inch strand, a scenic holiday spot on the East Cork coast.
