Ten firms to create up to 400 jobs
The good news comes as a major meat processing company announced 250 jobs will be filled at a factory replacing one burned down two years ago.
More than 16,000 jobs in Irish firms have been lost in the past year, compared to just 12,000 jobs created in the same sector. The 386 jobs are to be provided at four Dublin firms, and one each in Galway, Cork, Leitrim, Offaly, Wexford and Laois. They include engineering, healthcare, medical manufacturing and information and communications technology (ICT) companies. The biggest investment will see the creation of 103 posts at the Chanelle Group, a healthcare company in Loughrea, Co Galway.
