Motorists can get the message with high-tech parking

A SIMPLE text message from a mobile phone will soon replace the need to buy, scratch and display discs when parking goes hi-tech later this year.

Motorists will even be given ample warning when their parking time is up as a message to their phone will help them avoid towing or clamping.

The pilot scheme will be introduced in Cork.
