OPPOSITION parties last night reacted with disappointment to the failure of all sides to reach an agreement on the North and called on the Government to clarify why the latest process had collapsed.

Fine Gael leader Enda Kenny said he was disappointed Sinn Féin and the DUP could not reach a final agreement but said a lot of progress had been made.

“It also appears that the outstanding difficulties regarding the transparency and verification of weapons decommissioning are not insurmountable,” he said.
