Ireland’s newest multi-millionaire, Dolores McNamara, finally emerged in the full glare of the cameras yesterday after a week of (self-imposed) eviction from her Limerick home.
The 45-year-old mother of six seemed bothered, bewildered and bedazzled - just like any instant celebrity thrown up by reality TV - as she appeared in public for the first time since the news broke last Friday that she had scooped Europe’s largest ever lottery prize. The emotions felt by the diminutive blonde were highly understandable as fortune in the form of a cheque for €115,436,126 came with the less desirable but inseparable prize of immediate fame.
