RÓISÍN RUDDLE'S heartbroken parents say they will be forever haunted by their daughter's death because her chance of life was denied by a health system they had trusted.

Gerard Ruddle and Helen Quain-Ruddle from Kilmacow, Adare, Co Limerick, said yesterday they had no doubt that Róisín would still be alive if she had been operated on as planned in the country's major paediatric hospital.

"It was a chance denied her, and, as a consequence, a damnation on us, her parents, who put our misplaced trust on the health system," they said in a statement.
