Time to give employees their fair share, says union

EMPLOYERS who try to “cheat” staff out of the benefits of social partnership during the economic downturn will not be tolerated, a union leader has warned.

Countless workers accepted wage restraint well into the period of the economic boom and now they deserve to reap the rewards, chairperson of IMPACT's Civil Service Division John Power said yesterday.

Speaking at the opening of the union's conference in Kilkenny, Mr Power said it's now time for employees to be given their share.
