PD fundraising comes with no strings attached

THE PDs would not peddle access to senior members in return for donations or subscriptions, the party’s joint honorary treasurer, Paul Mackay, said.

In a thinly-veiled attack on Fianna Fáil, Mr Mackay said PD fundraising came “with no strings attached.”

It recently emerged that Fianna Fáil was considering a fundraising system whereby members of the business community would pay €1,500 a year in return for membership of a “golden circle”-type club which would offer them networking opportunities with Government ministers.
