Mayor Brady apologises to McDowell

DUBLIN Lord Mayor Royston Brady last night apologised to Justice Minister Michael McDowell who he had earlier accused of being an arrogant bully.

Mr Brady launched a savage attack on the minister after he apparently refused to meet the 31-year-old lord mayor to discuss crime in Dublin.

The young Fianna Fáil councillor - a close ally of Taoiseach Bertie Ahern - criticised several of the controversial minister’s policies.
