O’Neill supports retired Lennon

CELTIC manager Martin O’Neill has reiterated his support for midfielder Neil Lennon after he was forced to retire from international football.

The Hoops hero was the subject of a death threat ahead of the friendly against Cyprus last Wednesday and pulled out of the team.

But former Northern Irish captain O’Neill admits he has full sympathy for Lennon. “I fully support Neil in this. He is the one who knows exactly what he is going through and I’m fully supportive of this decision.
