Harney blames hospitals for high numbers on trolleys

TÁNAISTE Mary Harney yesterday blamed hospital management for the record number of patients lying on trolleys.

In the face of intense political criticism over the continuing A&E crisis, Ms Harney insisted the crisis, which saw almost 500 patients stranded on trolleys midweek, had nothing to do with resources.

Instead, she said the issue needed to be tackled at the level of individual hospitals.
