Time to end military neutrality sham, says Fine Gael

IRELAND’S military neutrality is a sham and it is time to frame a new policy, Fine Gael said yesterday.

FG foreign affairs spokesman Gay Mitchell said neutrality blocked participation in EU defence plans and he also said the changes he proposed required a referendum.

“This would be a sea change, it would be a very significant change,” he said
