Man, 18 dies after car strikes ditch

AN 18-YEAR OLD man died when his car struck a ditch in Lusk, Co Dublin on Saturday night.

Gardaí are investigating the crash which occurred at around 2am at Bridetree.

A New Zealander had to be rescued after he slipped and fell while boarding a ship in Cork Harbour yesterday morning. Mr Eric Markus, 71, was wedged between the quay and the ship at water level when his calls were heard. He was pulled to safety by members of Cobh gardaí and treated in hospital for hypothermia and minor injuries.
