Expert body to resolve troubled victim support services

SUPPORT services for victims of crime look set for a major shakeup with the announcement last night of an expert body to sort out the troubled area.

Justice Minister Michael McDowell said he was setting up the Commission for the Support of Victims of Crime following a review of existing services.

The main support organisation for victims of crime, Victim Support, will not have a representative on the four-person commission.
