THE Anglican Bishop of Cork last night strongly denied weekend reports that he officiated at the baptism of David and Victoria Beckham’s children.

In a statement, Bishop Paul Colton criticised “inaccurate journalism” following reports on Christmas Eve that he was in England to preside at the baptism of the Beckham’s children, Brooklyn, aged five, and Romeo, aged two.

He also criticised journalists who “indulged in speculation and wrongly concluded that because he had married David and Victoria Beckham in 1999 that he also presided at the baptism of their children”.
