Warning on public transport costs

THE sums need to be added and the benefits weighed up before any more money is spent on roads and public transport, the ESRI warned yesterday.

Investment in transport infrastructure is a top priority and delivers significant returns, the expert group says.

While stating that funding for national roads should be increased but investment in rail projects curtailed, the ESRI says there are concerns about value for money.
