Sky wins a limited audience share with new service

SKY News Ireland has failed to take any viewers from RTÉ and TV3 in its first week of broadcasting.

Sky wins a limited audience share with new service

According to figures released yesterday, the channel's 7pm bulletin, which is anchored by Gráinne Seóige, attracted an audience of 48,000 viewers on its opening night, May 10. But this figure has fallen to an average of 26,000 viewers since.

It means that Sky News is attracting less viewers than programmes like Oireachtas Report and even Bewitched a 40-year-old US comedy which got 29,000 viewers when shown at 10.20am on RTÉ last week.
