Majority of residents support county boundary extension plan

A SURVEY of householders living in the part of County Kilkenny that Waterford City Council wants to take over shows a majority favour the extension.

Market Dynamics, a market research company based in south Kilkenny, carried out a door-to-door survey. Of those who took part, 49% favoured the city extension into Kilkenny. One third wanted to remain under Kilkenny’s control.

A significant proportion (28%) said they thought that services would be better under the new regime and 28% felt the area had been neglected in recent years.
