Special applause for heroes

IT was applause, applause and even more applause for the sporting heroes at the Special Olympics.

It didn’t matter what country they were from or whether they had won or not. The support for the games exceeded all expectations and will be hard to beat by future host countries.

Games chief executive Mary Davis said there was no doubt that the event was a resounding success but it was everyone who came out and cheered the athletes on who made it the best ever.
