Jobless rate of disabled people ‘still too high’
A report published by the National Disability Authority (NDA) points out that the unemployment rate remains high at a time when more people with disabilities are participating in further education, employment and training services.
Recent figures from the Central Statistics Office (CSO) show that just over 40% of all persons aged 16 to 64 with a disability/health problem indicated they were in employment, compared to the 65% overall rate for the total population in the same age category.
