Tribunal lawyer rejects claim of deal with Dunlop

THE Flood Tribunal has rejected any suggestion that it has negotiated a deal with political lobbyist Frank Dunlop in return for his admission that he played a central role in political corruption.

Tribunal barrister John Gallagher SC, yesterday stressed the inquiry’s legal team had never even discussed the possibility of a deal with Mr Dunlop during extensive private meetings between the parties.

He also took exception to remarks that the tribunal appeared to be operating “a witness protection programme” for Mr Dunlop.
