BUILDING work on two Cork city council housing schemes has made life hell for residents sandwiched between the sites, it was claimed yesterday.

Frustrations boiled over on Mahon Terrace, in Blackrock, Cork, as mothers protested over the state of the roads, which have been covered with a thick layer of mud by construction traffic.

More than 140 social and affordable housing units are being built at either end of Mahon Terrace - in Buckley’s Field and on Casey’s Land. Heavy construction traffic is using the road every day.
