But there would have been tears for some Spears fans as all 25,000 tickets for her three Irish shows sold out within 30 minutes.
While it costs less to get married in Las Vegas than to see Britney Spears live in concert here, Britneymania is set to last much longer than a celebrity quick-fire marriage and annulment.
The 25,000 tickets for her concerts two in Dublin and one in Belfast were snapped up within half an hour of going on sale.
At E47 and E50 each, they cost more than the E44 for the basic wedding package at the Little White Chapel in Vegas where Britney married her childhood sweetheart, Jason Alexander, earlier this month. The 22-year-old singer has said a boozy party in Vegas was partly to blame for her 55-hour marriage to Alexander.
Fans of all ages queued all night outside Ticketmaster outlets around the country rather than relying on the telephone or internet, so anxious were they to get their hands on the precious tickets. At one stage, more than 30,000 people were trying to access the Ticketmaster website to buy tickets online.
Such was the demand for tickets that a second date was immediately added for Dublin yesterday by concert promoter Peter Aiken, which also sold out within minutes.
"It's the fastest selling concert ever, fact. We have never seen anything like this before," said Eamon O'Connor, general manager of Ticketmaster.
Britney will give one performance in the Odyssey Arena in Belfast on June 1 next and two performances in the Point Theatre on June 2 and 3.
A total of 9,000 fans will see Britney perform in Belfast while 8,000 will see her on each of her two Dublin appearances.
While it will be the first time that Britney has performed in Ireland it has been rumoured that she once visited here secretly with former boyfriend Justin Timberlake.
Ainé Carmody, speaking on behalf of Aiken Promotions, said they knew that interest in the tickets would be big as their phone lines had been jammed with callers all week.
She said it was a matter of first come, first served, for those seeking tickets. "The queuing for tickets is unusual because now you don't have to you can buy them over the phone or online.
"But Britney's fans were not going to miss out they were queuing and all night, too."
Asked what Britney was like as a person, Ms Carmody said: "She is still on tour with the same people who would always look after her. That means you have got a very down-to-earth person."
Not bad then for a formerly married megastar who has snogged Madonna.
