PLEAS for help from domestic violence victims may go unanswered this Christmas because a support group won’t be able to cope with the number of phone calls to its helpline.

Women's Aid expects to receive more than 500 calls for help over the next two weeks from women who experience violence in the home.

The group is concerned, however, that some of the calls may go unanswered.
