Fifth of North’s homes suffer crime

According to the poll of 3,010 adults aged 16 and over in private households in the province, 19.7% of people experienced a crime between September 1, 2000, and August 31, 2001, a drop from 23% in 1997.

Belfast remained the area with the highest level of crime, with 28% of people having fallen victim.
