Government is playing catch-up in citizenship campaign

THE outcome of the citizenship referendum could go down to the wire with the latest survey showing only a slight majority in support of a ban on automatic citizenship for children of non-national parents.

According to the Irish Examiner/Prime Time poll, 44% of voters in Munster will support the ban, while 41% want to see such children keep their right to citizenship.
