Homeless crisis scandalous, says campaigner

LEADING anti-poverty campaigner Fr Peter McVerry last night described Ireland’s ongoing homeless crisis as “scandalous” and “obscene”.

He spoke following the death in Cork yesterday of a woman who had been drinking on the streets.

Fr McVerry declined to comment on that incident.
