Greenhouse gasses down

HOUSEHOLDS and industry nationwide have managed to get a grip on harmful greenhouse emissions.

However, much work still remains to be done to ensure Ireland meets EU and global Kyoto limits, Environment Minister Martin Cullen said.

Greenhouse gas emissions increased slightly here but at a slower rate than our economic growth over the past few years, said the minister as he launched the new Waterford Energy Bureau.
