THE Taoiseach said he favoured granting access to courts for people with disabilities to enforce their rights under new legislation yesterday.

The promises the Government made to people with disabilities before the Special Olympics have not only been met, but exceeded, Mr Ahern said.

Although not describing the forthcoming Disabilities Bill as rights-based legislation, he said there would be some form of recourse to the courts.
