Energy tax set to rocket fuel costs

THE cost of all fuel and transport is set to increase dramatically from next year when the Government introduces carbon taxes.

The average families’ household bills will go up by hundreds of euros over the next five years, based on figures contained in a Department of Finance document.

Poor people will be hit the worst by the energy taxes being introduced to cut down on the country’s greenhouse gas emissions.
