Men armed with knife tell nurses beg for your lives

FOUR psychiatric nurses were told they would be killed with a butcher’s knife unless they got down on their knees and begged for mercy by two former patients.

The terrifying attack took place at 3am yesterday, while the nurses were on duty in the Lakeview Acute Psychiatric Unit at Naas General hospital. The men, armed with a double-bladed knife, broke through reinforced glass panels to gain access to the ward, after breaking into the unit via an upstairs door.

Security staff were unable to stop them, according to the Psychiatric Nurses Association.
