Female prison officers claim sexual harassment

A MAJOR investigation is underway after three female prison officers complained they had been sexually harassed by a male colleague in the country’s largest jail for sex offenders.

The prison officer against whom the allegations have been made has been suspended from duty. It is understood a female prison officer complained to authorities in Arbour Hill last month, and that afterwards, two other female colleagues came forward with allegations against the same male officer.

Arbour Hill, in Dublin’s north inner city, is one of two prisons in the country specifically for sex offenders.
