Brisk trade in sunny homes overseas

IT NEVER rains but it pours - and with the summer weather proving a washout more Irish people than ever are snapping up the opportunity to grab their place in the sun.

Property consultant Noreen Hynes says the market for buying holiday homes overseas is going strong.

“Another wet Irish summer has probably prompted some people to consider the option of a home in the sun,” said Ms Hynes, who runs Dublin-based Aquarius Properties. “But for most people investing in a foreign property, it’s not an impulsive or last-minute decision.
