Parents concerned over change to Kieran’s travel arrangements

THE parents of a profoundly disabled young man are concerned about changes in transport arrangements to a day care centre for their son.

However, the Southern Health Board (SHB) and the COPE Foundation said they hope to keep taxi facilities similar to those used by a previous contract holder.

Tom O’Connor’s 20-year-old son Kieran is brought by taxi every morning from his home in Shanagarry, east Cork, to the COPE centre in Glasheen, and driven home again each evening.
