THREE Irish tourists were slightly injured yesterday after a grenade was thrown from a passing car and exploded in Prague's chief shopping district.

The attack at the shopping street just off Wenceslas Square injured at least 16 people in a crowded shopping area. All three Irish were hospitalised with minor injuries, a Department of Foreign Affairs spokesperson said.

The injured included tourists from Britain, the United States, Germany and Slovakia, Czech officials said.
