MINISTER for Health Micheál Martin will meet Fianna Fáil backbenchers and health unions this morning in a bid to quell dissent over his radical health service reforms.

The proposals, which will result in the abolition of health boards in favour of four regional health agencies, were given the full backing of the Cabinet yesterday.

Today's meeting with sceptical FF TDs and senators will be the first step in selling the plan to politicians, health board staff, unions, medical professionals and ultimately the public.
