The DJ's wedding, in front of 160 guests, at St Flannan's Church in Kinnitty, Co Offaly, was as he had wished it to be a private affair.
His Dad, the rocker turned reality TV star, who is still recovering in hospital after a quad bike accident, had wanted his son to allow MTV film the New Year's Eve nuptials and lavish reception in the 13th-century Kinnitty Castle, but Louis was having none of it.
Louis, 28, from Ozzy's first marriage, who now lives in Rathmines, Dublin, feared media overexposure might damage his career.
"If I completely cheese it out on the media front I will get no credibility in the underground market, which is my bread and butter," he said.
Louis also turned down lucrative officers from magazines for pictures of the happy event but did agree to pose for press photographs with his new wife after they travelled to the castle by horse and carriage.
Ozzy, who has just been moved from Wexham Park Hospital, Slough, Berkshire, to a private clinic, where he is recovering from his injuries, was disappointed he had to miss his son's wedding. When asked about his dad's absence, Louis said whether Ozzy attended the wedding or not paled into insignificance after the horrific injuries he sustained. "All I want him to do is get better," he said.
At the wedding were Louis's mum, Thelma, and sister, Jessica. His father's second wife, Sharon, stayed in England to be with Ozzy for the New Year and his famous half-brother and half-sister, Jack and Kelly, are in the US presenting Sharon's chat show.
At midnight, Louis and Louise, clinking glasses of poitín, welcomed in the New Year and their new life together.
Louise, 30, a restaurant manager and actress from Knocklyon, Co Dublin, met Louis about two years ago when they were introduced to each other in Los Angeles by Alan Finn, an Irish cameraman working on The Osbournes for MTV. Louise was once personal assistant to the actress Catherine Zeta-Jones.
For her big day Louise wore an off-the-shoulder full-length ivory gown by top bridal designer, Miriam Spollen. A matching ivory cape was designed by a friend. The happy couple now plan to chill out during their three-week honeymoon on the paradise island of Mauritius before returning to Dublin.
