KIND-HEARTED school children have come together to help the disabled, after the Government failed to provide adequate funding for people with special needs in their communities.

The Kerry Diocesan ‘care card for Christmas’ competition has seen pupils from 160 schools design cards to raise money for cash strapped charities.

“The idea to create the card was a direct response to a decision made by the Government not to allocate funding for new developments in the area of disability,” Diocesan spokesperson Fr Rory O’Sullivan said.
