INDUSTRIAL action by junior doctors at Waterford Regional Hospital was suspended last night to give management a chance to enter into talks.

The Irish Medical Organisation (IMO) notified the South Eastern Health Board that it would lift pickets on the hospital until 9am on Tuesday to allow negotiations take place with a third party.

Junior doctors at the hospital had been on an indefinite work-to-rule over the operation of a new roster system.
