PRISON management is to meet prison officers following separate ballots for industrial action at two jails in Dublin and Cork.

The impending strike action comes as the Prison Officers’ Association (POA) and the Prison Service last week resumed talks aimed at resolving the long-running overtime dispute.

The national executive of the POA sanctioned industrial action at Cork and Cloverhill prisons following concerns over health and safety issues.
