Farming sector to benefit to tune of 21m

FARMERS will benefit from an extra 21 million through the tax measures announced in the Budget, according to Agriculture and Food Minister Joe Walsh.

Mr Walsh said this is in addition to the 5% increase in the gross allocation of 1.39 billion for agriculture and food in the abridged estimates.

He said the additional expenditure is focused on delivering on the priorities set out in Sustaining Progress.
